What is CE3X and when can XML fit?

CE3X is listed by MITECO among the simplified procedures for certifying existing buildings. Our service can reduce preparation work where XML is feasible, data is complete and software and version have been confirmed.

What can the working XML contain? +

Depending on the scope, complete data, agreed schema and version, it may include the following fields:

  • Certifier data: Name, NIF, qualification, contact
  • Building identification: Address, type, year, climate zone
  • Geometry: Habitable surface, compactness, volume
  • Thermal envelope: Building enclosures with thermal transmittances and compositions
  • Openings: Windows and doors with solar factor and permeability
  • Thermal installations: DHW, heating, cooling
  • Improvement measures: Renovation proposals with savings estimates
  • Compatibility limited to the software and version confirmed in the proposal
How does registration with the Regional Ministry work? +

The technician must check the current procedure in the relevant autonomous community before submitting the final file. In the Canary Islands, the electronic office publishes the applicable certificate-registration procedure; requirements and numbering may change.

Where schema and version are compatible, the working XML can be checked in the CTE XML Viewer from IETcc-CSIC.

The usual certification process is laborious: the technician visits the property, takes data on the thermal envelope (walls, roofs, floors, openings), the thermal installations (heating, cooling, DHW), and the building's geometric conditions. Then they manually enter each data point in CE3X: each enclosure with its thermal transmittance, each opening with its solar factor, each installation with its performance.

Where contracted and feasible, the working XML contains the fields agreed for the confirmed schema, software and version. The technician must review data and values, run the calculation, resolve issues and export the final file.

The technician checks and follows the current procedure in the relevant autonomous community. In the Canary Islands, the Government’s electronic office publishes the applicable registration procedure. Where schema and version are compatible, the XML can be checked in the CTE XML Viewer from the Eduardo Torroja Institute (IETcc-CSIC) as a prior technical control; that check does not guarantee administrative acceptance.
